Oversteer on left hand bends
Hi All
For a while I have felt that my D3 is unstable on left hand bends. At 70 on a round like the A1 it is rock solid on right hand bends but when even slightly turning left the car feels like it is over steering and to get into a little wobble. I am also getting my ABS coming on on slower bends again on left handlers.. what may be connected is that on my last journey my rear near side wheel was hot with a sticking caliper. This is recent though and definitely not been happening before as I check.
I have new AT3’s and just had rear stabiliser replaced and 4 wheel alignment. Tyre pressures 32 / 36. Lower rear bushes are squeaky but we’re checked on ramp and I was advised ok still, changing would have just been to remove noise.
I recently changed front struts as had airbag leak. Rears are originals and I’m on 180k Miles.
I am booked into Garage on Monday.
What do you think?
Is it bushes?
Faulty ABS sensor (I guess codes won’t show this)?
Check wheel alignment?
Worn steering column?
Rear suspension as shocks must be useless after 180k miles?
Thanks for reading if you got this far!
Cheers
Andy

Are you sure its the ABS and not the DSC cutting in and is the power being reduced on left handers? Apart from wear items, could be wheel alignment or Steering angle sensor calibration required.

And I think it is the DSC, it flashes the orange symbol on the dash.

I have had it happen three times, two were Steering angle sensors , one came loose, the other out of calibration and the third was rear control arm bushes worn.

I have 140 miles to drive today to get back, hoping the break doesn’t stick. I will try switching DSC off in case that improves things?
How hot can you let a caliper get, if it’s really hot is it advisable to stop and would AA tow based on that as a fault as not technically broken down?

So.. oversteer fixed, rear stabiliser replaced and both lower arms and associated bushes. Left it for weekend and now sitting lower than I’ve ever seen it. Pumps back up but dropped over night. I’m hoping just a pipe not a connected fully.. I’ll let you know
