The Bluetooth tool tells me it’s a solenoid but whe I rang Steve @advanced they don’t sell these to often which leaves me to believe it could be something else maybe a Hose ?D3 HSE

OK so the issue is a split hose. Is it worth buying the silicon type or original? What do people think about the ones from BAS remaps £60 delivered?

Glad it wasn't anything too serious. If you've got time to wait for a silicone hose to arrive then I would be inclined to hang on, however an LR hose is still likely to outlast the D3 and dealer should have one on the shelf.Stu

All sorted drives beautiful again. One thing to mention is after taking off the old one apart from the 2 inch split the rest of hose looked perfect. So I decided to cut open the whole hose to see what condition it was like inside. What I found was the hose was delaminating internally as well but from outside looked normal.D3 HSE

Evening all.
My Uncles 2005 D3 has this current error code. P0046-00 boost control solenoid.
I’ve changed the intercooler pipe on the left hand side (if your looking at the engine from the front) and I’ve put my MAF sensor off my D3 and cleared the code -
A short drive and the error appeared again. So I’ve done the intercooler pipe and tried a MAF, what next? Defender 110 2.4 TDCi Utility Station Wagon.

check the turbo actuator is free.
you go in thru the passenger wheel arch, with a bent coat hanger
plenty of threads on oiling actuator
