Panoramic Roof Glass

Just a heads up....
I knew it was too good to be true getting my Disco insurance last year for £300. Just found out that the fixed panoramic roof glass is not covered on the glass cover and that I have to make a full claim. (which is protected at least) This means paying out full excess of £400 plus since the car is now over 3 yrs old I cannot insist on a dealer part replacement! (although they do state they are made in the same factory just without the logo’s etc...that old chestnut) I have told them I want a OEM glass roof but I may have to pay even more.
I did inform them that many main stream insurers cover the fixed glass roof under there normal glass cover but she disagreed Rolling Eyes
On top of this I now have to take the car to a bodyshop before it can be referred to a windscreen company so im well impressed but suppose I should of read all five thousand pages of the small print. You live and learn.
Not to metion any names but the insurer starts with the letters AA but its the under-writer CIS (co-op) that has set the rules so to speak. D4 HSE Lux MY16 Club Waitomo

There was a long thread on this before but the consensus was that the roof was not covered under the windscreen/windows glass repalcement scheme and that it was a major body part. .

Brentacre covered my panoramic roof, just had £80 excess to pay on the windshield/glass cover.

I have spoken to a few forum members personally and they had the pano roof done under the standard glass cover. Its crazy as my sunroof is covered but not the slate of glass behind it Rolling Eyes D4 HSE Lux MY16 Club Waitomo
