I had the same HDC fault at start up and other issues. Following the notes from another thread on the forum I became convinced my issues were derived from low battery voltage. Had dealer check battery at last service, they said "all ok". Started my D3 to leave dealer and ta da HDC warning again. Convinced them to replace battery and not one fault or HDC warning since. I've got an '05 D3 so the battery lasted a little over 3 years.16 D4 Landmark

Park Brake fault light
Dear Cayman6,
I just found your thread on a day I returned from my local dealership where I have my Disco3 serviced. I mentioned this fault and their response is to recommend an overhaul of the brake system to the tune of £175! They suggested that leaving it could cause much more damage. The suggestion was that dust and dirt might get into the brake drums. They also added that it is advisable to release the park brake manually rather than relying on the auto-release function. I told them that when we picked up the car when it was initially purchase (same dealership) they explicitly told us to use the auto-release function. I am now reading that most attribute the fault to the battery's reaction to the cold weather.
Does anyone have an opinion about the diagnosis my dealership has provided me with? Should I go through this expensive overhaul? Checking on-line, I have found that the closest alternative dealership is about 1 hour away from me. It is not really convenient for me to go to an alternative dealer for services. Any suggestions here?
That price sounds like it could be for the stripping cleaning and refitting of the EPB. Are you getting screaming noises from the EPB or just the warning lights? . Check with them to see exactly what they want to do. Reasoning for the clean up is generally to save the EPB module going T's up and that would be expensive. Lots of threads about the charges for above but it costs around 2 hours labour.Mine was £200 and was very P'd off about it, if its a serviceable item as they now say willl not get stung again. If you have to pay for it try a specialist independant who's labour rates will be cheaper than a main dealer.TONGA GREEN TDV6 S MANUAL

Had sometimes the same issues when cold mostly after being home for a short while so driving short distances. When some waranty work had to be done I let Nene Overland know this issue too and they replaced the battery whitout any question and not have had the problem since.
Also not when living in a hotel at only 3.5km from my worksite for 2 weeks. So driving short distances in cold weather so using a lot off electricity.Roel
