Sensors work in Park, but when you put it into drive or reve

Hi, I have a 2005 Disco 3 HSE front and rear sensors

Two sensor on rear bumper where dead no clicking when I put my ear to them, so replaced them and both front bumper and rear bumper sensors work perfect when you walk up to them while the car is in PARK

But as soon as I put it into reverse, or drive, the parking sensors start doing strange beeping and the light on the button flashes also, when there is nothing near them and keep doing this when we drive off, so we switch them off at the switch.

Any help would be greatly appreciated Smile

United Kingdom 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE Manual Cairns BlueDiscovery 3

Hi, I have been getting the solid tone from the front parking sensors. I took the bumper off and found a damaged wire. Spliced in a new wire and all was well....or so I thought. A couple of days later, the issue returned.

Having had a fault with the sunroof where the fix was to hold the sunroof switch in for 30 seconds, I thought I'd give that a go with the PDC.

I turned off the PDC (PDC switch light off) then held the switch in for 30 seconds or so until the I got a single beep from the rear sensor speaker. Mysteriously, the front sensors now work OK

My question is this - is holding in the PDC for 30 seconds a secret reset command? I RTFM but could find no reference to resetting the PDC ECU.

Coincidence or a secret reset command??? If it stops working again I'll update the forum.

Faulty sensors and unplugged cables

I have been a Disco 3 owner for a grand total of 2 days. I have the same issue as many with my sensors. There is a long beep and flashing light on the button. I have tried to clean all sensors and press and hold the button for 30 seconds to reset but to no avail. I have checked behind the rear passenger side lights and there is a connector which is unplugged (see photo). Anyone have any ideas if this is linked to the issue or what the connector does?

Thanks

Reverse Lights and Reverse Parking Sensors not functioning (

Hi,

Had the Disco for around 3 months now and finally getting around to looking at this.

I get the transmission position on the dash but no reverse lights and the parking alarm sounds for 5 seconds. Checked codes and tells me no signal from any of the rear sensors.

I have :
- removed and checked the fuses I can find but all seem fine
- removed, cleaned and refitted connectors, including around gear selector

I understand that the manual gearbox has an XYZ unit that sometimes needs adjustment - does the auto have something similar?

Any thoughts?
