Parking Sensors failed this morning. |
|
Hi, i have searched the forum for some answers, but i thought i would throw it out here anyway.
so i have a message in the main LCD screen saying 'front parking sensors failed'
The parking sensor button is also flashing amber, and i get a loud beep when turning on the ignition.
they have been firing off randomly when i wasnt near anything recently,
I also turned on the ignition, put into reverse, and put my ear to each sensor.
I can hear a clicking noise coming from each one. (don't know if that's a good or bad thing).
That makes me think its a loom issue, after reading other threads.
any other suggestions ?
Think my D3 is falling to bits , this is the third issue in as many weeks, although i have done 20K miles without a hitch .
Cheers

One possibility is a "nick" in one of the wires. This happened on my D3, a tiny little nick, that let in water which resulted in the symptoms you describe. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Ill have to have a look around, and check the wiring in the front bumper.
where is the connector located for the sensors ?
