Parking sensors replaced but still no parking sounds

Hi

Today I replaced all the rear parking sensors in the hopes that this will have fixed the reverse parking long beep I get, sadly it hasn’t resolved it.

All contacts was cleaned using a contact cleaner and I ensured that the wiring was connected by double checking, now when I go into reverse all I hear is the long tone, rather than the beeps you’d expect when close to objects. Has anyone got any ideas what else I could check to resolve this?

Thanks for your time.

P.S.
Sorry if this is the wrong section of the forums.

I don’t have front sensors. I also don’t have the IID tool either, that’s on my shopping list as soon as I have enough money I’ll be getting one.

Check the wiring behind the bumper isn’t chaffed.

Chock the wheels and listen to the sensors (or get a child to). They should click if working

You need to have it in reverse and park brake off I think

The sounder (speaker) is on the lefthand side about middle of rear side window behind the trim

To confirm the system is working you should get a single bleep when reverse is selected. No bleep means the system is not active. Long bleep means malfunction. Sounds like sounder may be u/s.

He says he gets a long beep, hopefully from the rear

I think the sensors were second hand

Hi, sorry I’ve been ill so I haven’t had chance to check the wiring.

The sensors are new, I replaced them all. When I get a little better and while I’m changing the pads, discs and shoes I’ll do the checks on the wiring at the same time, hopefully it’ll be a dodgy wire near the sensor that I can swap out.

Where does the sound comes from? Do you read any message on the dash?

Hi, sorry for the late reply. It comes from the rear, I used a diagnostic tool today and found that the new sensors aren’t registered 3/4 error codes below

B1B48-01 - Rear left outer sensor
B1B44-01 - Rear right outer sensor
B1B46-01 - Rear right inner sensor

So I think the wiring might be broken but it’ll have to wait until the weekend now before I get around to checking with the multimeter.
