Thanks

Thanks Gary.......all done. If you take the 2 nuts off so the control board can slide forward then you have access to that clip on the green plug. ALL DONE AND I NEVER, EVER WANNA DO THAT AGAIN..!!
Now she doesn't leak. All electrics are the same as when I ripped her apart and so that was a success. Now to figure out why the new scanner icarsoft LR V2.0 wont work on her. I'll start another post..!
Thanks again everyone!

Hi All - about to undertake the repair of my sunroof drain tomorrow (2015 D4 HSE LUX) - have removed all panelling ready.

I have one question - the only reason i noticed i had a problem was rear passenger elec window & door lock stopped working. They then went intermittent as i dried things out - but now not working again.

Does anyone know if there's a specific connector or part of the loom i might want to pay special attention too that may have been linked to the damp issue to stop these parts working? I have some contact cleaner but a bit of targeted direction might be handy to see if i can get things working again without having to get the garage involved.

I can't work out how to get the protective cover off that goes along the cill as the seat side trims seem to stop you removing (& i can't work out how to release those trims) Any tips there might also help get better access to the loom to check it.

TIA!

===========
UPDATE: Have fixed the elbow - man what a horrendous job that green clip was on the back!! i definately lost my sh*t a few times. But it's done. Still have the intermittent window issue if anyone has any thoughts on what or where to check - there's still a little dampness in the carpets so maybe still causing a short somewhere.

did this today to swap a decomposing elbow on the passenger side - all easy to get out and replaced the leaking elbow then really struggled to get the cjb back in place and connect the rear connectors. Found comments about turning it by 90 degrees, couldn't quite rotate it that far but had enough to get connected not to the rear connectors Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Thanks to this post i tackled my blocked sunroof drain yesterday, was so clogged with crap that even pushing trimmer liner thru either end wouldn't unblock it.
Removed the CJB which was easier than i expected to find the elbow had been replaced with the updated version, stuck some beer line hose up the tube then blew it out and all the algae like crap came out the top.

I’m currently elbow (lol) deep into this and realised in my haste I have forgotten to disconnect the battery… Am I in for a bad time? Going to disconnect that next just in case…

CJB is out, I’ve found the elbow, currently having a brew before pulling a fancy yoga pose and feeding the old hose out. Thinking it’s got to come down the way, into the footwell, with the new one going up the way.

I didnt bother to replace the whole hose, as mine was fine and i doubt it would ever be an issue - the elbow was the part that had gone on mine so just swapped that and re assembled

yes just pull the old elbow off the end of the down tube (its just a tight push fit ) and push the new one on no need to replace the whole tube the old page 54 of the karma sutra position needs to be adopted for the best result Laughing

Changing the tube wasn’t the hard part, refitting the rear connectors on the CJB on the other hand! I had an epiphany during the third hour though and had it done within moments.

Hoping a full battery is going to sort out the cacophony of faults this morning…

If you forgot to disconnect the battery on first removal you may have done some long term damage, hopefully not!
However if you didnt try it, it could be worth just removing for a few hours and then do a hard reset before connecting the battery up.

Yeah, both GAP reset and a battery cable reset Sad nothings worked yet Big Cry

Have found a company that will copy and paste my CJB into a fresh one, if I conclude thats the damage.

Unfortunate timing. Got a whole pile of bits here and on their way, waiting to go on, but it’s no getting them until it works!

Sorry to hear that!
Id be taking it all out and refitting it again, double check all of the connections for corrosion as there has been water down there it might have had some where it shouldn't, fingers crossed for a good result!

I don’t think water ever made it to the CJB. Dry as a bone and no corrosion on any terminals. I think I’ve either damaged the unit itself by disconnecting it live, or damaged some wiring behind when blindly fumbling about in there with my meat hooks.

Another one for the list.

Found the passenger side carpet soaked this morning. I have got all the trim off required and pulled the carpet back, then hoovered out loads of the water using a pond hoover and a piece of fuel tube that I can push under the side trim.

The water looks very clean and doesnt look like it has been there long, maybe just from last night or maybe a few days. I guess the next thing is to pour some water down the left hand sunroof drain, to see if it is coming into the car. When I did it earlier, water was exiting from behind the front wheel, so not all the water (if any) is going in the car. I guess even without removing the fuse box, I would see the water trickling down the bulkhead ?

Knackered for today, so have taped up the sunroof and will take another look over the weekend.
