Peak District - Stannage Edge
This weekend I will find out if a D3 goes UP Stannage Edge
I was planning on using my 2a, but it just went u/s again
So, the D3 is going instead. Anyone out and about in the Peaks this weekend keep an eye out for a mottley crew of old battered Land Rovers, and a shiny Disco 3 8)
if it's dry I was going to go and take some pics of the climbers and walk the dogs."To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

Best of luck Gareth - plenty of photos & some video of the event whether you make it or not
I'm absolutely swamped this weekend otherwise I might have tagged along
I missed my chance to be first D3 up Stanage in October coz I bottled it... I trust you won't let the side down! Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Cheers guys, I am sure it will be fine. Its going to down so rocks will be nice and slippy. Got my STT's fitted and ready.
Also trialling my new home made car-puter 8) Got an old laptop in the back of the seat, with a Lilliput 7" touch-screen on the dash. Memory Map and a BT - GPS completes the package. I am trying to make it interchangeable quickly between vehicles, hence the laptop. Its the same sort of setup I was using with the PDA, but I was struggling to read the small screen.

One thing at a time! There are enough wires draped around the dash already. Once I get the setup perfected, I will make 2 integral wiring looms and fit to each car to allow a quick swapover.

Gareth,
I remember taking our new (then) D2 up Stanage a few years ago. It was the first time I'd been up there so didn't know what to expect..!
Anyway, I got to the top with no damage apart from a slight scratch on the end of the front bumper where I got too close to a rock.
I went up there recently in my Defender and was followed by a pair of muppets in a Fiat Panda (2WD version)..! They just went as fast as they could and when they landed on a rock and got stuck, they got out and lifted it off. If they can get up there, I'm sure a D3 can.
