I purchased Dyneema Bowrope 11mm x 30.5m ready rigged with red safety hook (4005). Upgraded to Large Yellow safety hook.I also got aluminium Hawses from them.
This is rated for winches up to 12,500 lbs,so will do fine for Pat.You could go to 12mm but I was a bit concerned with space because of hidden type winch.11mm is what he(Goodwinch) recommended for my size of winch anyway.
Worth giving CFB(Andy) a PM,he was looking into plasma ropes a while ago.
"Plasma" is infact a brand name and I can recomend Gigglepin 4x4 in Kent for that product.
If you call them say John's dad sent you!
"Dyneema" is also a brand name for a similar product from David Bowyer in Devon. If a group purchase could be achieved for 5 ropes, I can get very good prices from Mr. Bowyer. If not mention my name, you never know!.
10 for cash is also a good man to deal with but I am not sure if he does the cable.

Yes I think all agreed that plasma is a brand name, but fair to say most people refer to this type of rope as plasma.

Dyneema is the material used to manufacture it. It is also used in the manufacture of webbing for slings and strops as well as various types of rope due to it's high tensile strength"Never keep up with the Joneses. Drag'em down to your level. It's cheaper".
