Best is to get new ones to get them permanently (reasonably) looking like new ones
Of the other methods, some people say use peanut butter but I personally would stay away from that. Search for it here and you’ll get the picture..

How did you get rid of the coarseness? I’m assuming you did the D3’s black wheel trims and made the car look more like a D4.

As recommended by another member I used a 'Magic Sponge' and they came up like new!
These are slightly abrasive and seem to take the top layer of plastic off and mine came up great and I've not used any type of trim dressing since

I bought a magic Sponge today from the pound store. Are they best used wet or dry please?

Every year I apply boiled linseed oil, bought from B&Q c. £4.99. It isn’t a permanent solution but works beautifully for half a year.

Another one GTechniq Plastic Trim Restorer here
only one world
F A N T A S T I C ! ! !
I restored the Defender spare wheel cover (6 years old cover) one year ago and today is still like new.
I also treated all Disco plastic trims and, again, the results are awesome, and, above all, the result lasts for years, unlike the classic products that leave the plastic in a worse state than before after the first rain .....Discovery 5 tdv6 HSE Corris Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition
