I am sure Lr will fix the issues. D3 had an enhansment done on them a year after being released. LR are usually good on warranty claims.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Hi, is it true that the new 3.0 TDV6 and 5.0 V8 does not have drain plug? i.e. they have to use specialised vacuum suction equipment to change engine oil?
This will defeat the purpose of the 4x4xfar vehichle... because it will not go far... LR lives!

The 3.0 engine and upgraded interior were the deciding factors for me in buying a Discovery. Without them I wouldn't have bought one at all.
The 'upgraded' interior + the useless leather dashboard is rather nice, but I feel that the exterior is overdone with the color wheel arches & the fake air intake. I still like the old utility look... personal taste.LR lives!

SO... MANY MANY years have passed... so Crystal balls are not needed.. the TDv6 Did cease to be an 'option' in the D4...
What is the Reality Now?
How Does the D4 2.7 vs the 3.0 actually fair.... ie slightly under powered vs more powerful but with some engine 'issues'.... DID MPG really vary much?
Just interested as SWMBO was asking me 'which is better'... and I really cant say with any certainty..1 TR6 Rusting away quietly

It doesn't use any oil ........
I'm kidding........
yes, even 3.0 has the drain plug, the engine does not have the oil dipstick (you need to use the car display).Discovery 5 tdv6 HSE Corris Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition

Really... its not just about checking the level.. how do you check the quality of the oil?
