Possible auto gearbox problem?? |
|
55 Reg, 30k miles - had it for about a month.
A couple of time recently I've been going down a hill with foot off the accelerator, when I get to the bottom and accelerate away, the engine revs a lot and then eventually the gears 'catch' and off we go.
Today, it didn't catch and the thing just sat there while I revved the engine! Moving the lever to N then back to D fixed it and off we went again.
No faults or anything were indicated.
Anyone come across this and got any ideas?
Thanks
Steve
PS - All a bit worrying - my last car - an Audi A6 - cost me £3k for a new gearbox

Sounds more like a mechanical connection problem in the shift mechanism.
Hopefully outside the transmisson.
Just a thought. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
