Possible low pressure fuel pump

So my disco 3 2.7 broke down yesterday on the M8. I was driving along put my foot down to overtake and had engine failure warning but no lights. The car went into limp mode then died about 100 yards down the road. The AA man diagnosed it as a low pressure fuel pump issue by removing the engine cover and squeezing the fuel pipe to the high pressure fuel pump. Said there wasn’t enough pressure there as it’s normally hard when the fuel is being pumped. Is he right with this?

The pipes are hard plastic, so not sure what pipe he was squeezing Laughing

Best place to start, is here: https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/robbies-gui...30062.html

He squeezed the one leading to the Schrader valve. I thought they were all hard lines, I know they used to be on on my last car.

UPDATE:

I got the car home and today set about diagnosing the fault. First I tried to start the car again. No go. So I checked the fuel supply, there was nothing out of the schrader valve. Checked fuse 1 that was fine. So set about removing the tank and checking the pump. The pump was shot. Replaced the pump with a new one. Plugged everything back in. Turned the ignition on, waited 2 mins, tried the schrader again and still nothing. Any ideas on where to go next with it? The AA bloke pulled the handbrake on and now I cant get that to release either. I was planning on trying to get it to a garage tomorrow.

Does anyone have a picture of the connecter in the wheelarch and which side is it?

I think you will find the one next to it is the same type of relay and can be swapped over to test

Update

found the connector was slightly disconnected so I’m Guessing its worked itself loose or wasn’t connected properly and finally came lose enough to cause the issue. Plugged it back together and could hear the pump running. Now my issue is still there no fuel to the Schrader valve. I’m going to try and prime it to see if it needs longer and then try again but it seems to me it’s a fuel filter issue. Which fuel filter pipe is the inlet from the pump just so I can check the actual pump is pumping

The pump doesnt continually run i think it runs for about 30 seconds, you need to switch the ignition on then press the valve it may take some time to see fuel so you may need to do this three or four times

Bled the fuel lines about 20 times and still nothing. I can hear the pump running but still no fuel. I have no ideas what to do next. I’ve got a new fuel filter on order should be here today sometime. Hopefully that’ll get it sorted. Does anyone have any other ideas if it’s not?
