Probably being a bit thick...

Hi,

New to Disco 4 (and any landrover for that matter).

Only picked it up on Sunday and already been scouring this forum for info tips and mods.

Spotted a thread about the FBH and it got my attention.

Are the fbh's fitted as standard to the sdv6 engines? Could only see about tdv6.

If so, is it just a case of fitting the controller module and ha ing someone program it to work with the touch screen etc using iidc?

Seems rather simple to add which is why I'm suspicious. 😂

Thanks all

One very excited new owner,

Jim

Yes.
Your best point of contact to have this done is forum member Beanie, he's at Stafford and can supply + fit all bits needed and do the upgrade to cars firmware too.

Thanks very much.

Ok so my question is probably the worst yet, I have discovered my 2010 TDV6 SE has the fbh fitted, how does it work? I mean how do you turn it on, does it come on automatically when temp is below a certain point?

Any info would be much appreciated

The FBH without the remote module is simple an automatic thing that starts up if certain criteria are met when you start the car.

I believe the main one is if the temp is below 10 deg. If that is the case then when you start the car the FBH will also spring to life and assist with warming the engine.

If you have the optional extra remote then you can use that to start warming the inside of the Disco before you go out in the cold. It runs for 20 mins which is enough to defrost and make it nice a warm inside (Its lovely Very Happy )

There is also the touch screen options to be able to program the FHB to do the 20 min turn on based on a timer. either a 1 off or a 7 day program.

The touch screen options can just be enabled in the software if you have and IID or know someone that has Smile

The remote option requires a module that plugs in on the drivers side in the boot. This unit come with an external antenna that you can hide away. This also needs enabling in the software once fitted.

Hope that helps. Thumbs Up

Awesome, thanks for the info. We probably only get 10 days a year that it is colder than 10 deg. Not really worth changing to much on it then.
