Protective (Paint) Film

Has anyone in SA had a protective film applied to their vehicle/s. Does it work, can you recommend having it done? Cost? Where and which product?

Thumbs Up

I've used a product called ScratchPro AP60 on my previous 4wd, It's a temporary paint protection coating you put on with a small paint roller! Goes on white / dries clear but with the texture you could expect from a roller Smile
You give it 2 coats and can be left on for up to 3 months, great to stop branch scratches but you do get some funny looks with that texture finish. If it gets wet it goes milky in colour but still holds together. The easiest way to get it off is with a high pressure washer but you can peel it off too.
It looks like this product has replaced it now:

I got my D3 tinted the other day and while I was there they where putting this 3M coating on a VW Black GTI Golf.
The owner was a fanatic and was getting this film applied over every bit of the car to keep it pristine.
But it was costing him heaps - $3500 AUD.
He can peel it off when he sells the car or just leave it on.

OK I'm back

The VPS cost about 11k but I did the whole car other than the roof and tailgate . It is very touch and looks quite good when polished . There are agents all over the country
