Prudhoe/Newcastle/Hexham area. Expo rack help required

Just purchased an Expo rack from another member but not sure how to fit the front supports, wondered if anyone close or in the above areas could spare me some time to help.

Much appreciated.
 Paul.

It's easy! Take out the bung (the most difficult bit), lay the bracket on top and put in the bolt and tighten.

This assumes you have all the right bits, of course!

Got the bits but am not sure how to safely (ie without damage) remove the strip that runs front to back & knowing my history.......

Hah! The "strip that runs from front to back" makes me think that you don't have roof rails fitted. The rack mounts onto these rails, with only the front mounting not on the rails. You dont need to remove the short bit of strip in front of the rails as there is a bung in it that covers a captive nut.

Have a look in the wiki on here for the instructions for fitting roof rails. That includes how to remove the full length strip - and cut it and refit the front section if not fitting full length rails. With rails fitted it is a doddle to fit the rack, just needs three people to do the lift evenly.

Early D3s don't have the bungs, they do require the front strip to be removed and drilled.

I see that's actually in the instructions. A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

Cheers, have the rails at the back & two strips the front, hmmm makes me think front rail bits useful. Will ponder.

There aren't 'front rail bits'. The short black strip of aluminium running from the front of the car to the roof rails either has pre-drilled holes or it doesn't. If it does there's a small plastic cap to remove to reveal the hole. If it doesn't, just follow the instructions - it comes off and refits very easily.
