I had these in my old D3 for 2 years, and have just done them in my D4. The LEDS are only on one side so great for the puddle lights, footwell, and boot lights.
They are not polarity sensitive.
FYI, i have just fitted these in the roof lights. LEDS are on both sides. Seem nice and bright, but only had them for a week, so cant vouch how long they will last.

Had same issue when fitting Philips LED bulbs to front lower door puddle lights recently, rear puddles worked fine but no joy on fronts. Seems some w5w LED bulbs must offer insufficient resistance for computer to power them up, given car thinks bulb has blown cos no resistance seen? Anyway, decided to try kit in 1st link below, works a treat and front puddles now work properly. V easy to fit as extra wire and resistor can be fed into recess once lense removed. Only negative is bulb holder doesn't lock into lense unit like original unit, but IMO is no problem given function of puddle lights. Could also fit resistor with scotchlocks (2nd link below) and might be neater job however mine is still under manufacturers warranty so didn't want permanent changes to wiring. Hope this helps

I've had my fronts for over 2 years. all OK. Put rears in from a different supplier but the LR image sort of burnt up. Fortunately image slide spares were included with the packaging.
Best bet is to keep spare image slides or buy from the ebay seller who is in the UK.

Be aware LED puddle lights in the front doors of the D4 may not work, regardless of polarity. Well they certainly didn't on my MY11 D4.
dont work on mine either,,but they work on the back doors

Yep same in backs, means you just need LEDs with higher resistance. Got these working in the fronts.

Just came across this thread....fitted theses puddle lamps no probs, but the door lights did time out whilst fitting...shut the door re-open and on they come. Fitted all the interior and map lights today as well, no issues
