question regarding blanked egr valves
afternoon all I need an expert to answer a question for me please
was talking to my mot guy other day and the topic of egr's came up, when I said I had blanked mine he said that's not good for the turbo as when you lift off the throttle the boost pressure has nowhere to go as they have no dump/diverter valve in the system and would normally release through the egr valve
I didn't say much to be honest as im not sure if he is right or having removed the butterfly from the throttle body im right, thoughts below please thanks for all repliesplease excuse any grammer/punctuation mistakes,i'm thick, thankyou

I wouldn't worry.
I doubt the EGRs are open with foot off throttle anyway. So no difference

If you look on the side of your turbo your find the actuator that controls the pressure by allowing the exhaust gases to bypass the turbo or altering the variable vanes so that the gases have no effect on the turbine.
Egr valves open on overun with the throttle closed, a turbo will only reach maximum boost with the throttle open so they cant use a egr as a dump valve.

EGR Opens when the engine is warm and under cruising conditions
