Quiet Alarm

A couple of the guys i work with have told me that the alarm on my car is very quiet, they were stood next to it when it was set off by a passing truck. I set it off myself this evening and have to agree with them. You can stand next to the car and have a conversation without raising your voice while the alarm is twittering away. My car is a 55 plate base model V6. Is this a common thing or the way its supposed to be? Is there a way to clear the siren out if its full of crap?

There's a thread on here somewhere, but I can't find it at the moment. If you look in the spare battery compartment there's a sounder with Volvo written on it (IIRC) - unplug it and the vehicle will then use the horn as a sounder, which is much louder. The connector is a bit of a pig to get off, but is worth doing Thumbs Up

Very easy job to do with an amazing improvement off "Sound".... Mr. Green

Just fiddle around with a srewdriver and undo the connector on the alarm-blackbox (see topic).

Give it a try and you will notice a light improvement Rolling with laughter
Cover your ears while trying...hihi
