I think Kwik Fit charge around £60 for a service and refill (Although would I trust Kwik Fit? Whistle ), so £180 sounds like daylight robbery - Main dealer I assume?

Kwik-Fit £59.95 for R134A and £129.95 for R1234YF gas. Put your reg. no. in their website and it will give you a price.

I may be going mad, but you still only have one Aircon system with one condenser etc.....this is the case whether you have front or front and rear Aircon.

It's all loaded in the engine, so double is wrong, as Seddie said, enter the your details in the website and or call them?

Just had a vehicle done at ATS for £60 inc Vat.

Not that it matters to the OP but around 2015 the gas was changed, from R134A to R1234YF , if you have the later gas it’s nearly double.

Is that just a refill or is that a recovery of the old gas, a pressure test with OFN and a vac down and then a regas?

I'd be amazed if the sheds offering the service for £50 are doing this. They'll just be topping up the gas.

Hi,
had the Mini we had a year or so back done by the local tyre place £40-£50 istr

Most systems now they connect up and dial in the amount of gas required and turn it on, it runs through a set order that includes vac out, pressure test for a set time to check for leaks and refill with correct amount,
not sure but think it can reuses the gas vacced out topping up will new as required

disposal of refrigerant is soooooo expensive that any disposal cylinders are charged for on supply mt rather than when full to get rid off Shocked

think the Mini had the amount of gas required stamped on the ..... ... unit..?

Thumbs Up

Probably took them 35 minutes, with a print out from the machine, how much gas was in it, cleaned refilled, lubricant added etc.
