Radio jumps stations and between radio & cd

Hi All, I’ve got a very annoying problem with my radio, it swaps between
stations as and when it likes !
And today whilst playing a cd it decided to go to a radio station !
This has only just started to happen in the last few weeks
I’ve not had any work done to my car in anyway in the past 6 months
So why is this happening?
Can anyone help please?
Thanks

Have you checked to make sure that traffic announcement or TA as it is normally called has not been switched on. That wi do what you are describing.

Just a thought, but have you got steering wheel controls?

Have a think about the clock spring or steering wheel switch wiring looms.

I had a single broken wire in mine that meant none of the audio controls worked at all, and the cruise control was very intermittent.

If you’ve got an intermittent connection in there, it could be mimicking button presses.

Just a thought

Also, if you have the controls by the rear seats and one the buttons gets grotty it can give some odd symptoms....

Anyone get to the bottom of this?
This evening in my 08 G4 I could hear the CD discs changing despite having the radio on....and then when I tried playing a CD it was jumping to the next song continuously....I must admit I thought about the clock spring but in fairness it’s not that old..... Shocked

Farmer Chalk mine did this. Randomly would shuffle all cd’s for no reason. Then the head unit wouldn’t shut down so took the battery out. Got caught a few times with a dead battery. Eventually replaced head unit and all was well. Depending on what happen with my broken D3 I may have a head unit for sale. My car is a HSE so not sure if compatible ?

I think mine is beyond help. Waiting on garage to diagnose but the engine is very very dead. So annoying as the car is a mint example and only done 130k. Brand new tyres, discs pads and the list goes on. I am on first name terms with Advanced Factors !!!! Once I know what the crack is I may offer for sale on here for someone to fix or break up for parts. If no takers then I may break it up myself and sell what I can.

Another vote for the rear seat controls causing this (if you have them).... Because no-one ever uses them they get a bit grotty and stick, then if they do get pressed they can cause this sort of problem.

I had exactly this and it was something resting on the rear controls. I had a divider in the boot, with one side piled up to the waist line and a bag was resting on the controls, causing it to constantly change. Took me a while to work it out!!
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
