Normally radio reception is good around Aberdeen but both DAB and FM have gone very scratchy and DAB drops right off at times. The Disc drive, USB system and Nav voice etc is fine.
The weather has been atrocious recently. Does the aerial system suffer from water ingress?
Any other pointers? Stew,

Dab and AM/FM aerial amplifiers are in the roof mounted along both passenger and drivers side between rear doors and tailgate. In turn they use the traces that are on the rear quarter windows for the aerials. Apart from that there is nothing else to it and no real way for water to get into them unless you drill a hole in your roof!
When I did my conversion last year the upgrade DAB unit could not get a signal so swapped this out to no effect and eventually ended up changing the aerial which sorted it out.
In your case because you have problems with FM also I would say it could be due to atmospheric conditions because the DAB and FM use different amplifiers and aerials.

Thanks for that Jack,
It may be getting better but asking friends round here they say no worse than usual drop outs with DAB and the FM is rock solid with them.
What's in the bump on the roof at the rear. I thought that was the aerial system Stew,

You are right Stew, forgot but on mine if I remember correctly it was for one of the FM feeds the other being on drivers side amp. Again GPS on mine is in rear upper tailgate stop light. Have the schematics and entertainment system locations around somewhere and will post up to gallery.

Reception seems to be back to normal without any intervention
I looked online for any Durris Transmission problems but nothing reported. Stew,

Update for anyone interested:
I'd found an old in motion video camera I had before I got my BlackVue and stuck it on the rear window and connected to the 12v outlet in the bootspace.
I took the card out the other day to have a look and left the cam unconnected - Bingo! No interference
I've carried out some proper scientific testing and that has been the problem all along. Connect the camera and I get DAB dropout and poor FM. Disconnect and it's steady reception.
Tried connected and disconnected on same routes at same time of day - yer can tell I'm a proper Ingineer Stew,
