| The real reason to drive a D3 |
|
Whenever I hear of a baseball hatted yoof crashing and wiping out a whole family, it saddens me further to find that the said family car was a small hatchback.
As 90 odd % of other drivers are complete cnuts, I am lucky enough to be able to protect my family by placing them in the biggest, meanest, 4 x 4 est, baddest yet safest car that I can afford.
Up you Green activists, I don't pollute the upper atmosphere chasing enlightenment on some remote island in the Sea of Siam. My primary job as a male and a father is to protect my family and that, apart from being a great car, is why I have a Land Rover Discovery D3.
If the roads get worse, I will be buying a Challenger Tank.

buses now theres something for the greenies to get their teeth into. they trundle around towns all day poluting the atmosphere breaking down and causing traffic jams and more polution. If you ask me a fleet of 7 seater D3s would be far more ecological to ferry people about

I had to go on a bus last Friday, it was the shuttle bus from the car park to the golf course at The Open. Spent an hour on the damned thing, stinking hot, smelly and noisy. Don't do buses normally.

Don't forget its helicopter, hardly the most ecofriendly means of transport! If they say they need it to get pictures, I say try walking!

Yes, the helicopter is a bit of an odd choice. I mean, all those lentils, chick peas and quorn – add a match and up ya go!

yup - roads are dangerous places & under 25 males are statistically the most likely to have an accident - and their accident rate is completely disproportionate to their numbers driving. If the tree huggers want a target there is a nice juicy drainpipe exhaust - old pile of badly serviced hot hatch pile of sh it for them to go for.
I just got back from a month driving in south africa/Swaziland & their driving makes ours look like a shining example of advanced motorists on a day out. 90% of them tailgate (and I mean proper 2 ft from the rear stuff) at 80 mph + if you let them , with goats, pigs, dogs, people, road craters, likely to appear on the road at any time. And about 50% of their cars would have been off our roads due to MOT failure 20 years ago....UK seems quite tame compared to these roads....  2007 TDV6 HSE 'Silver Lady'. With 'free' privacy glass LOL.

Funny you should mention South Africa, my sister stays there and when I last visited I experienced the very same.
We call them people carriers they call them PCV's, population control vehicles. Fill them up and wipe out a whole generation in one go. Half of them driven by people with no driving licence as well.

yep...interesting social/motoring experiement, put half the drivers on the road without a licence put the other 40% in cars which are mechanically dangerous and 10% in legal vehicles. I´m kind of "green". My job is rescue animals, around 600 / year. 24/7, I need to get there where the animals are, regardless of the road or weather conditions. I need enough space for the gages etc. For the sake of these animals, this "green" drives a DISCO3.
