Rear brake squeeks when in reverse |
|
When reversing off the drive I notice a faint squeaking noise coming from the rear brakes, it does not happen when moving foreword.
Is this a common fault, do I need to get something done about it soon or can it wait a few months to the 1st service?

Sounds like the park brake squeal that I had, see the following thread for more information. Only update to this is that my park brake squeal came back but this time with a amber and a red flashing park brake light. This time when it went to the dealers they replaced the shoes (they said that one of them had cracked) on the park brake and since then I have not had the problem again.

Could be grit in between the pads and disks too.
Try a good powerful hose or jet wash in and around the brakes on each wheel. Worth a go.

Thanks for the info, will call the stealer and see what happens.
Don't think it is grit, gave it a good clean at the weekend.
Wonder if this explains my poor MPG?

Cleaning a vehicle will not increase your fuel consumption. This is a myth. Your LR is designed to operate in various arduous conditions, one of those being left dirty
