Rear lamp mod

What do ya think to this,
From this

To this

With a bit of this

And about 45 mins, it's not easy to wrap the lights and I'll have to redo it as I've got a couple of creases and bubbles in Big Cry but it's the first time I've used it, any one got experience of wrapping cars that could give me a few pointers please Thumbs Up

Great effort, hard to tell the difference between the legit 2014 lights and your mod. I could see a market for a template if you were able to get the sheets correctly situated with cut outs. People could just buy the sheets and put them on.

Try using a mix of fairy liquid and water in a sprayer to 'float' the vinyl on. Then squeegee out with something soft as to not scratch it, then just heat gun off.

I suppose the tricky bit is getting the cuts right etc, try and use templates if you can.

Good work. Just a small point the 2014 rear lights still have the side facing red reflector, if you're after a "copy" then you may want the trim around that too Thumbs Up

Did you trim it on the light of off the light before application?

Yeah I know about the new lights, no not trying to do a copy, I've wanted to do something similar since getting the truck as I'm not Keen on the red surround after seeing the new ones I hoped they had them black all over but I don't like the reflector down the side, just my thoughts,

I started by removing the light, stuck some low tac tape over the ovals cut it out with a scalpel, and then used some 20mm tape for the rectangles, refitted the light applied the wrap, removed the light, cut round the ovals and the rectangles and removed the wrap and low tac tape to reveal the lights, hope that makes sense, the hardest part was getting the wrap on as it needed stretching and shrinking to get rid of the creases Wink

I'm going to redo it as it's not perfect but it'll do for now, I need to practice with the wrap Thumbs Up
