Rear Parking Sensors intermittent |
|
Sorry for yet another rear parking sensors thread, but by search-fu is week today and I can't seem to find the answer.
We probably have a "wet" sensor or part of the loom, as sensors on the fritz, then working ok, washed car last night and now the rears are on the fritz again.
Assume I have either a fault with the loom, or a duff sensor - I understand there are some common faults (talk of reverse and walking around looking for clicking or not clicking sensors?), or some loom chaffing? Anyone point me towards where to start?

I hope no-one minds a little 'bump' for this thread. I have pretty much the same problem, apart from the fact that mine have completely stopped working now. Every time I engage reverse I just get a continuous tone from the dash and the parking sensor light flashes.
Can anyone shed any light on the problem?
Thanks

Its a bumper off chaps and check the wiring first
The ecu is monitored so if you go to a stealer he will tell you which sensor/loop is playing up
i had same thing on brand new car and turned out to be faulty plug that fell apart in the stealers hands
