Rear screens

Not sure if been covered before but is it possible to retrofit rear screens in my14 hse to work with front mounted DVD player.
Plenty aftermarket avail but run a separate player.
Thanks

Hi Mick and welcome to the forum. I believe this might be possible, I'm sure someone on here has done it. Personally, I stopped ordering the cars with the rear seat entertainment because at £2500 odd they just weren't worth it IMHO. You could buy two iPads with holders and power leads if needs be for a whole lot less. The screens in the car are not great for watching films tbh. The iPad option is a much better bet and the direction new incarnations off the car (D5 maybe?) are going. It's the same with the surround cameras. LR need to do a deal with someone like GoPro to seriously upgrade the cameras clarity. All just MHO of course. Apologies, mini rant over Wink

Salesman said the same thing. It has been handy when parked but would like the smurfs to watch it on the move. I like the idea of having controls without having to stop & get out.
Also I can turn off the entertainment when back seat behaviour gets unruly.
Thanks

I've got RSE in mine, but it is a bit limited on what you can do whilst driving!

Yes I can turn the screens on and off, and control what is watched, (to an extent).

My daughter's only 2, so can't use the remote control. If she wants to watch a DVD, I have to be stationary to be able to navigate the DVD menu to get it to play. If it's a TV prog compilation with individual episodes, then I'd have to stop to select each episode and then press play.

If you use the USB stick option, then the USB stick has to be plugged into the rear, and you can only access it using the rear remote control.

If your smurfs are older, then it becomes a more attractive proposition to get the RSE, as they can control it, but you still have the power to control how they use it, either by using Parental Lock, or switching the whole system off Whistle
