Reflections Door Protection Strips
Anybody got a set fitted yet?
I've got a set coming on Thursday from my 'mate' at a local LR Dealer (not GS Stockport in case anyone's looking) for a nice price and interested to see how good they look on.Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

There is a black D3 in town here and it has the 'Reflections Pack' fitted.
Sorry to say but it looks tacky... would be great if it were brushed aluminium ala Audi on a grey or silver D3.
To be honest the only parts that look good are the Side Rubbing Strips with the silver inlay and the silver strip on the tail gate.
The silver mirror caps and roof rails just don't look right at all - brushed alu roof rails would do though, not bright chrome effect.
So lucky you, you have the bits that work

PS my personal taste is if course open for debate

Now, I like that and I am jealous too...
I think that instead of the side strip, I'd rather go the route of the side protection tubes in steel chroming... Georgia On My Mind...

Maybe thats why I don't like it much eh

I agree - the only other bits I have for consideration are the Side Steps and just may be the tailgate door strip - subject to funds being released by the CFOSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Good man... keep it subtle and stylish, not like 'other' LR products out there.

If your fitting these yourself Steve....heres a tip from when I fitted mine on my D2
.....turn your heating on 'Full' ...lay the strip on the top of a double rad and leave to simmer for about 30 minutes. When nice and warm and flexi fit to motor....straight of course........then stand back and admire 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

All done!
Fairly straightforwards - cleaned the car first, then used the degreaser, and finalled marked up the positions with masking tape. Had the strips laid out in the sun to get nice and warm and used Mrs N's hairdryer to warm up the door panels (got some strange looks ) before fitting - it was a two person job lining up and placing on the front doors.
Waddya think?
P.S. Blingy air intake in place too now - used a plastic spoon to release the original!Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Steve, You were right - Looking good, Air intake takes the edge of the "black" buckingham blue also.
I am currently looking for something to garnish my front end after the SE pub meet, 2 spots I think.Captain Nick Medhurst would ask:
"What is the first rule when overlanding?"
I would Reply:
"Duratrac"

Look good.
Glad i have a silver D3 so my air intake is 'visible' and have no need to fit a blingy one
