Removeble hitch & wiring - suspension sits down

I fitted the the LR official hitch wiring myself, with the removable tow bar. The Ivor Williams trailer has ordinary light bulbs and everything worked fine for a while. But recently, if I plug in the trailer and then switch on the night driving lights, the dash pings and states "transmission error" and activates suspension "access mode" (ie sits downs!).

I also replaced rear brake bulbs with leds on the Disco (every other Disco on Irish roads seem to rely on the centre brake light only !). I did read somewhere there that trailers with led light bulbs encounter problems and although the trailer has normal bulbs I wonder if there is a connection.

I was going to wait until first service to get the dealer to update the vehicle software addition of the tow bar wiring, but I am not sure it this will fix the issue.

Is it a wiring error, a software update, or the leds fitted to Disco? Question

Appreciate any help
