Removing Auto Gear lever

Has anyone replaced or swapped the Auto Gear lever, I have just bought a leather one off Flabay and wondered how easy it was to swap?

The car who fitted my handsfree kit said just pull it up really hard and off it comes!! Now driving BMW 330d Touring....misses D3...but not when at traffic lights Smile
