Removing Exterior Door Trim

Earlier this winter, the trim piece that runs along the bottom of one of the doors disappeared leaving only the yellow plastic connectors behind. The replacement part uses a different type of connector. Is there an easy way to remove those yellow connectors? I was told a special tool was necessary.

Thanks in advance.

If you don't plan on reusing them....just break them out... Try a regular screw driver.

Done. Thanks.

I see they redesigned the connectors. Still can't figure out how the original piece let go though.

I think you will find that it is the 2 parts of the connector just snapped together. They spill snap apart.
