Removing RAI

If I need to remove my RAI I know that I will need a new A-Pillar trim, but when I remove the screws holding it in place on the wing how easy is it to remove the rivnuts that are left in place? I am thinking it will be easier just to fit screws with black caps (number plate style) but it might look a pig.

A temporary removal or permanent? If you're losing the RAI for good a decent bodyshop will be able to sort out the holes for under £100 (some lucky types have had it done for as little as £40, hey Andrew?)
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Ah, selling up again cfb?...........if you drill out the rivnut you'll be left with a rather large hole , would fitting a metal screw painted the same colour as car look better? The next owner may want a RAI anyway.

Just considering my options Whistle

Don't want it to look a dog but getting it to a bodyshop will be a PITA

If you're trading it in, just put a screw painted the same colour as the car.
If selling privately then get it bodyshop'd

They'll look the same colour right up to the point where you start swapping body panels.

Cheaper to just hand it over with the holes there and agree a nominal £50 reduction in P/ex value to cover the cost of having the holes filled by the dealer at cost.
