Removing/Replacing Auxillary Battery - Help please!

Scuse my incompetence and ignorance but how to get battery clamp off?

Replacement arrived today - so thought I'd nip out and replace it.... Rolling Eyes

Took ages to figure out how to get the little plastic cover off the positive terminals without breaking it ... managed, that but that was as far as I got...

The battery clamp seems to slot in one side of the 'frame' but the bolt/screw holding down the other side - which I presume has to be undone, is some 10" away 'hidden' beneath the negative wire. It looks like the type of screw/bolt that will just drop off and be lost if I tried it with an 'extended' socket set as it is not reachable by hand.

Or am I missing something? (apart from some mechanical knowhow of course). Anybody help please - is there a you tube clip? - I've searched and found nothing...

It was 12 months ago when I changed mine but don't recall any problems and nothing fell off while doing it.

I did remove the short positive lead completely just to give a bit more room .

Thanks BBDisco3 - much appreciated..! I did think the only way to get my hand down there was to remove the short 'negative'? lead - the black one..... or have I got that wrong?

I now can't remember which it was i took off!

Isn't there just one long bolt holding the battery retainer at one end and the bracket fits in to a slot at the other?

Only changed that battery once in 5 years..... unlike the main battery which was number 4.
