Hi everyone - I have a 2006 - 07 D3 and it has a fault code P0490 coming up. What is the most common problem and what is the fix? Big Cry

Welcome!

Lots turns up in a forum search for your code, best suggestion is you have a read through of some previous threads. Have seen a few reported causes and fixes Smile

"Thanks" looks like a really good site and many people have good ideas.

I was looking for help on how to diagnose the fault once i have the fault code P0490. These EGR valves look hard to get to and many people say you have to take the body off. I didn't want to do that obviously so any quick checks and rectification would be appreciated.

It was registered December 2006 so will this make it a 2006 or is it done in a different way with D3?

Your car is probably a 2007 model year car, but may be a late registration of a 2006MY.

Use this to work out your model year: https://www.disco3.co.uk/wiki/Vehicle_Identification_Number

Basically, if the VIN number ends in 7A followed by 6 numbers eg 7A345123 then it's a 2007MY.

6A followed by 6 numbers e.g. 6A234543 would be 2006MY
