I meant there are lots of sets avaliable, most all state they’re demounts, ie taken off a vehicle rather than actually brand new.

New car ordered from stock because it's a good deal but no opportunity for customer to spec different wheels as it comes as it comes, dealer agrees to change the wheels to clinch the sale and/or charges customer the difference, dealer orders requested wheels from 'parts dept' swaps them and is left with a new 'take off' set. Very common.
Wheels ordered as 'parts' don't usually come with centre caps so the originals are used on the new wheels hence why the take offs are then left without caps.

That sounds plausible!
I don’t doubt that’s the case but I’m sure some of them have been reconditioned and being sold as new/demounts.
They haven’t made D4’s with the black & diamond cut 20’s for probably a couple of years therefore surely there aren't the amount of “new” wheels still avaliable, at least on eBay and Gumtree....!!
There’s a set of Lux/Landmark diamon cuts on a FB group i’m on for around £1K, think with tyres, I can ask for a contact no if you’d likePaul.

Thanks Jester, please do.
Perhaps I’m being naive but for that kind of price whatever set I purchase I’m wanting a perfect, with, as new tyres, set.
I don’t want to then have to refurb them and buy new tyres.
