Restricted Performance - Intercooler Pipe?

HI all,

I'm back with a new discovery after writing off my D3... don't ask...

D4 2010 3.0l with 6 speed 118,000 miles

Been running fine since i got it but today restricted performance light appeared and shortly after engine management. limped my way home.

Unfortunately my code reader isnt great (icarsoft) and wont show me any good codes/readings.

I notice if i push the car to approx 1800 rpm and let go of accelerator the front right makes a whistling sound?

I'm struggling to find many posts on how to check the inter cooler hose's - yep i have used search! Wink

Any chance someone could send me a link or explain where to check.

I'm trying to be a bit more hands on with the car this time instead of taking to a specialist.

Thanks as always!

It’s difficult to diagnose things without codes.

Ur Very welcome Thumbs Up

Found a few links

https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/whistle-acc...ht=whistle

https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/oil-leak-to...it+hose+d4

Also full workshop manual , takes a while to load as it’s around 5,000 pages

https://dljpvq.am.files.1drv.com/y4m5cTtAs...=262475203

Plus I imagine other members will be along later to help but indeed need the codes read

Also check all ur intercooler hose clips to ensure they’re nice and tight

Hopefully that will help get u started

So had a look again this morning and noticed one of the hoses was loose.

Will order some new clips from advanced factors later today.

Managed to tighten it up and faults cleared so im happy now Smile

On another note, any advice on what power steering fluid i need? I'm now at below min!

Once again thanks for the help, that workshop manual is a life saver.

Glad it helped

That’s great it was just a loose clip, was the same on the turbo hose for my D3 , get some of those T bolt clamps as found them really good and don’t come loose , inc being wide Thumbs Up

Plus here u go ref what oils and qtys u need

https://www.advancedfactors.co.uk/adv906-2...5760-p.asp

Hope that helps
