Ride height of an HSE ?

As you know, we are taking delivery of our car on 1st March and we intend to take it to Denmark in May on a DFDS car ferry.

The ride height accepted is 1.85m and if you go over this then its about £50 more expensive.

Ive been looking in the LR brochure and it says that the min height is 1.841.

What i would like to know is, is this the ride height and would i be able to drive it onto the ferry at this setting or is it only to be used when the vehicle is stationary?

This is more a matter of principle because the basic ferry crossing costs hundreds of pounds and to quibble over a couple of cms is petty.

You can drive it at access height perfectly well, with the suspension locked at that height.

I think that the HSE has std roof rails which make the height 1.849m.
It is higher with a phone antenna.

I am sure DFDS wouldn't mind if it wasn't, they wouldn't have to use the hydraulics to lift the ramp to the upper car deck Wink

Nothing more un-nerving that driving VERY slowly in locked access hight, with the window open, with your right hand feeling the the roof of the underground London car park. Must have been at least and inch or 2 to spare at some places, although the quoted max hight was 2m ???. At least I can chalk that one down for next time as 'ok'
..............Somewhere in-between my old D3 and what's to come next .........
