Altox "ON" button (thread split)

On some mornings the ALTOX app will not speak to the car either by wifi or text message. Is there a simple way of adding a manual start button even if it in the engine bay?

I do have access to the sim card holder and wiring behind the driver window air vent....

Maybe beanie's not up yet! Have a look through the Altox manual, pretty sure it tells you in there how to wire in a manual start button.

This is all I could find in the manual:

Control via Button
The standard ALTOX equipment also includes a button (it is installed if
required in the car's interior). This button controls the heater and indicates
its current working status.

V5 Altox?

If so it appears the button would go between pin 4 (green) - low side input - and pin 3 (black) - ground. Colours from Altox supplied loom.

However wait for Beanie to confirm for your install.

I found this here:https://altox.ru/en/reports/altox-freelander/

It freelander but must be same/similar?

"Now we need to connect the button to the required sources. The wires are too short, so we should lengthen them. You can spin or seal them, there is a minimum current there, you should not give that too much thought but you definitely should remember to insulate the wires. If you use wires in other colors to lengthen your current wires, remember which is which, so that you don't have to check them again later.
Now we connect plus wires of the button and the module with knife-blade terminal connectors to the red plus wire of the Telestart system.
The minus wires of the button and the module will be connected to earth in any convenient place. I connected them to the safety bag mounting screw. I did not use the minus wire of the Telestart system. It was more convenient to connect to earth in a different place.
The white wire of the button is connected to the gray wire of the module. The pink wire of the button is connected to the pink wire of the module.
Finally, the blue wire of the module (WBUS) is connected via the terminal connector to the yellow wire of the dismantled Telestart system."

Yes V5 Altox - So if the switch/button was wired LIVE to pin 4 GREEN and OFF to Pin 3 BLACK by the ALTOX unit the switch should turn on the heater manually?

They are V4 module wiring colours mentioned (pink, grey etc) and the button used has an LED in it for feedback. So there is more wiring than just two wires that are joined by the button to activate stuff.

Buttons don't have "LIVE" and "OFF". They have two sides which aren't connected.. yet Smile

One side to green which is the input to the Altox unit, the Altox is looking for ground here to do stuff.

One side to black which is ground.

Pushing the button connects green to black, input to ground. Altox sees that and fires rockets/FBH.

No, V4 just has a different pinout and wires colour. The "original" button has an LED in it for feedback, a V5 can be wired up like this too but you asked for a button to run.
