An excellent write up indeed Thumbs Up

Can I also suggest that you take that left over Air Intake Elbow ( in the bottom left of the diagram above ) to your favourite nylon tube supplier (I used B&Q) and get a couple of meters of tube. Fit it to this elbow and route the unkinked tube somewhere drier than the front grill ( I put mine round the back of the airbox wedged against the aux battery box) with cable ties holding it all in place. This way the stebel can still draw dry air and sound off even when physically under water Smile

Thank you for this Robbie Smile

The low and high tones on my L322 are dying slowly, partially from wading i suspect so need replacing Sad

Finding some cheap used ones on ebay i think i'll give this a go, downside with the L322 is that the horns are on the drivers inside wing behind the arch liner so a longer run for the batter termination but at least the relay can be mounted right next to it as its mostly sheltered unless wading (I'll bag the relay to keep it safe Smile )

My only comment is 17A wire protected by a 25A fuse!

Don't know what the draw is on the horn, but I'd fit a 15A fuse or larger diameter wires.

Given the cable length the max amps of the wires selected are well above the max load of the horn and the fuse rating.

If in doubt consult an auto electrician.

Good write up.
I can vouch for the horn.. I fitted one to my Defender.. what a difference.. It was loud enough to make people instinctively jump/drive out of the way..
...
But it did sound a little bit like the bread or lemonade van that used to come around the doors when I was a wee lad...

Finally fitted the new horn

Thank you Thumbs Up for this write up Robbie as I finally managed to get round to fitting this horn today. (The original LR one does sound really weak by comparison.) I'm well happy! : Very Happy

Only problem I had was with the *issing down weather!, and me forgetting to realise that the drivers side window was still fully down while I was stood under the garage waiting for the clouds to pass. Censored

Just tried all the electrics and everything seems to be ok..... Whistle

Excellent. Thumbs Up

Sorry that I didn't include a weather warning in the guide!

Time flies - this guide is over 3 years old. Seems like yesterday!

Can you still get these units or is it a case of only copies being available now?

Doesn't have anything about it being able to take in air from a little pipe though which would help a lot, although I'm purely poking in for use in Range Rovers which have them between the front bumper and drivers wheel arch liner so protected more the disco it's something to be wary of with this countries changing weather...

Aahh yes, forgot about that part. I mounted mine tucked just in front of the airbox, then ran an air pipe to the aux battery box Thumbs Up

It's loud! Laughing

The noise IMO is now proportional to the size of the beast! - people are now aware I'm there! Shocked

I got mine back in March from eBay, the link I originally used seems to have been removed?
