Does anybody have one of these , I'm looking for weekend getaways the only thing that puts me off is the weight. How easy are they to get up on the roof?

I have one its Maggiolina, the big one, its very easy to remove and fit, my son and I lift it up to the roof and fit it when needed, two can mange it .
Just park up and wind it up and its fully up in about 1 min. And very comfortable as well.
Best thing I bought.

I didn’t have the roof tent with the trailer so I think Tony is selling it -------------------------------------------------
if you cant hold on dont let go , it ill come in handy for something even if you never use it.

A roof tent weighs about 60-70 kg so that is the starting point.
Electric hoist in roof space or access to forklift and it is very easy.
Now have 2/3/4 assistants relatively tall fit etc then straight forward.
Otherwise with some care and caution a couple of sloping scaffold planks and slowly slide roof tent off. Making sure planks don't damage car or can slip.
I am lucky have an electric hoist

I have an Oztent, it gets transported on the roof and lifted off for floor installation.
Superb but can be crazy expensive when you include all the add ons.

Roof tents are great for hot climates where there's loads of spiders + bugs + biting critters at ground level, in the U.K., Oztent every time.👍🏻 Mods:

Jim, Ive got a roof tent and put it on and off myself.
Top tailgate down and the bottom 1 open.
Best way to describe it is to fold the tent onto the bottom tailgate and then cover the back window and roof and slide the tent onto the roof, Easy!
