ROS Door fault

Hi All,

My rear off side door has decided it only wants to open every other time off the remote central locking.

From what I have tried so far...

It always locks and unlocks from the manual lever on the door inside.
It always opens using the handle inside.
It always locks off the remote.

BUT

It doesn't always unlock from the remote.
It doesn't always open from the outside handle.

I've searched on here and it appears the actuator is a "common fault" (like every fault ever mnentioned on this site Rolling with laughter)

Anyone know if this is a case of a new actuator needed or is there another issue "common" that causes the intermittent outside handle?

On a side note, my front passenger window doesn't auto up. I've tried the reset by holding the switch, which works on the other windows, but it doesn't work. Another new actuator needed?

Are the non OEM actuators any good? I'm tempted to stick to Genuine LR, but thought i'd ask.

Thanks in advance. Thumbs Up

Had exactly the same issue, I replaced the lock actuator which is a relatively easy job if you are handy. I'd buy a LR part though, Duckworths do them at a decent price and it's worth it given the time it takes to replace it, you don't want to be doing it again in 6 months time. There are a few other threads on here about it if you seek them out.

No idea about your window, sorry.

Hi,

Cheers for the reply. It appears that the internal lock, just above the internal handle, doesn't fully open/close when pressing the remote fob, which keeps the door locked on the outside. Testing it today, it doesn't lock either. I'm not double locking for this reason. I'll buy genuine as you suggest. Saves swapping it again in six months. Thumbs Up

Just another thought, might be worth popping off the door panel and checking the cables that go to the locking mechanism, there are a couple of plastic retainers that can break and could cause it to misbehave, it's only about 10mins to check and cheap to replace if that's the issue, worth a check before you start ordering or removing locks etc.

I'll pop the door card off and have a look.

Many thanks Thumbs Up

99% likely that it's the lock mechanism. Put a genuine new one in. Thumbs Up

I changed my NSF for a copy part, and it's just starting to become a problem.

As much as it pains me to pay the extra for genuine parts, I think it's always worth it in the long run. Thumbs Up
