Hi, My wife's 55 plate D3s suffered a total loss of power the other week on going round a tight left hand bend, the same thing has happened again this evening, causing her to end up on the other side of the round nearly hitting another car. All lights went of the dash and total loss of brakes and power steering !!

Any ideas / clues much appreciated
My battery light is on so, although I know not what I am doing I have just checked the voltage, engine on and off. It remains at 12v so I guess the alternator is screwed!

Anyway....I have just noticed this loose wire coming off the loom that goes to the FBH and wondering if anyone knows where it is supposed to be attached......????

Hi all, ive got a vibration on my D3 that seems to come and go when it pleases, it did it tonight which was the first time in a few days. Ive had a new wheel bearing on the front, new discs and pads on the rear and a new epb modulator and shoes about 3 weeks ago. Anyone got any ideas as its going back in again next Tuesday.
cheers Rob

PS When the vibration starts, if you slow down for a mile or so it goes and its all back to normal.

view forum post
Ok story is,

Bought an 05 HSE from a LR dealer back in April.
A short while after we got all the bells and whistles up on the dash, special systems off, suspension lowering etc etc and loss of speedo and ABS?
The dealer was good, had it back for a week, said they did the wiring overlay to the rear and replaced a rear speed / ABS sensor and also sorted a few other niggles.

All fine until last week when the same fault popped up, booked into a...

view forum post
Hi

I have read lots and lots of threads with regards to rattly/clattery sounding engines since picking up my TDv6 D3 about 2 months ago. I had come to the conclusion that I was just being paranoid and that I should ignore it and just get on with life......until today. When disembarking in the nursery car park some random bloke whom I had never seen before in my life said, "That doesn't sound good." "Oh, it always sounds like that." I said,...

view forum post
Hi all

Wonder if anyone can shed any light on this issue...

We have recently moved to Devon and now travel down some very steep local lanes to get out to the main road. When travelling down one particular steep hill two weeks ago the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree and the screen displayed an engine system fault. The vehicle then lost power. My wife was driving at the time (I was away) so she limped into a gateway and called out LRA. When they arrived...

view forum post
_________________
06MY Disco 3 TDV6 7 st
Just a quick question addressed to any of you who have changed a D3 alternator yourself.

Do you have any tips for the easiest way to get at it?
How much gubbins you need to remove first?
Are there any special tool needed?

One evening late last week I went to go out in the Disco, and it wouldn't unlock. Tried both keys, nothing. Was in a hurry, so took the other car...

Next morning, fine, no problems.

Yesterday, came back from a long run, emptied the boot, went to lock it - and nothing. Hour later, tried again - worked fine. Tried the other fob - also fine.

This morning, same again, neither fob working.

Hi everyone,

Apologies as this is my first post but I have been reading up on the site for a few weeks now.

I bought my first landrover about 6 weeks a go. It is a 54 plate HSE diesel and I absolutely love it. My previous car was a grand cherokee, which for me was a great car, but the disco is so much better.

I drove the disco through a ford on the weekend, approx 10 inches deep and coming out of the ford the steering went totally stiff and...

view forum post
For me it looks like the mirror on the driver side has a wider view than the one on the passenger side. So my guess it that that mirror is a bit more curved than the passenger side.

So I thought that i just could get a driver side mirror from a RHD car and put on my passenger side to get the same view.

Could someone confirm that the driver side mirror has a wider view, and that it's not my eyes playing tricks on me.

view forum post
I bought a 55' plate Disco 3 about 18 months ago and have had nothing but trouble with it. I've replaced the entire n/s rear suspention bushes, front n/s wheel bearing / hub and am now left with a number of electronic problems. Some have been dealt with in various forums on this site - EPB squealing for example and mirrors that have a mind of their own despite having the reverse interlock disabled.

	Hi
My 05 HSE has recently started to drop about 20 seconds after getting out and locking the car. Sometimes it seems to be when I am at the boot getting something else. It does not seem to be a leak as it sounds controlled. Does anyone else have this? I have had the car two years and this has started recently. The car raises as normal when started (and I have checked the suspension height switch is not being pressed). The suspension pump has been replaced twice in the last 18 months....

view forum post
_________________
----------------------------

Had an odd occurrence with my D3 yesterday, I started the engine in the normal way, Ie. ignition on - wait for "system check" then preheater - fire up, all OK except it seemed to run a bit lumpy initially, I opened the window to see if I could hear anything unusual and the engine just stopped with the battery light coming on, also the preheater light flashed on very briefly then the oil light ...

view forum post
_________________
Clive

Engine eventually stalls.
Selected neutral restarted engine, then selected reverse and came back off the hill.

A second attempt with more of a...

view forum post
_________________
Mike - 47 deg 33'N 52 deg 42' W
Subject: tracking/4 wheel alignment?
Posted: Fri Aug 27 2010 3:12pm (GMT 1)

D3 pulls too much to the left when centered and steering needs to be pointed slightly right when going in a straight line.
Also noticed inner edges of tyres have worn more than outer.

So is tracking different to 4 wheel alignment and what do I need to do?
Who can do 4 wheel alignment? does it need a specialist/dealer?
