I was comparing my D3 to my brother-in-laws today and noticed that the air mass sensor was unplugged in mine. It must have been like that for quite a while as nothing has been touched in that area since the last service.

The car has been running fine with around 30mpg on a long journey etc - it's an auto. It has original type egr valves, which were replaced a while back.

I have always thought this was an important item and the car would not run well if it...

Our D3 will be hauling the family to the South of France next month. Given it's usual fare is short journies, I felt some pre-journey checks might be in order before embarking on a 1500 mile round trip.

Aside from oil, water, tyre pressures, any other suggested pre-journey checks to minimise potential problems?

I'm looking for a D3 so my wife can tow her horse trailer, but today she came in saying a few of her friends have ML's and like them.

So what are the advantages of s Disco ( we dont need 7 seats) over a ML on the face of it they are cheaper and more reliable.

Anyone know the difference between Navik Black and Santorini Black? I know Santorini has silver flecks in, but I am unsure about Navik and if you could mix the two on the same car, you know grille in Navik and car in Santorini.

Hi

The auto gearbox on my 2005 TDV6 has developed a problem. When cold, it doesn't shift smoothly from second into first gear when, for example, rolling up to a set of traffic lights. When I accelerate away from the lights, the gearbox "clonks", goes into first and then goes. When warm it's not too bad and I tend to drive around the issue by not nailing the accelerator away from a stop. Going from park into drive is fine, any ideas?

I'm getting inconsistent juddering through the steering wheel when braking.

3 yr old D4 with 26k miles.

I've checked the torque of all wheel nuts.

I've checked the tyre pressures.

Discs and pads have a good few miles left in them. I've checked them myself, it was main dealer serviced last month and a mechanic mate has also looked at them.

Can anyone help please? My car had to have a new high pressure fuel pump which cost me £1200. I have now discovered that my VIN is actually in the recall range and so the work should have been done FOC by LR. Has anyone successfully received compensation, in full or in part, for such work? Thanks

I need to order some odds and sods from Lard Rover but no idea of the part numbers, is there an online list somewhere?

Im after the "bungs" that go in the rear disc covers to stop the dust going in the EPB

Im after some of the plastic things for the door trim before i take it off to fix the latch

I need the cover that goes into the arm rest on the passenger side to cover the bolt.

Im going to view a 2006 Discovery tdv6 with manual gearbox and have a few questions I hope you can help me with.
Firstly it has done 112000 miles with a full filled service book and the asking price is £ 12000 is this a fair price for the mileage and is that classed as high mileage for this car and engine?

Just sharing my woes!

Took my discover in for the belt changes today and the 105k service (7 years in Aug)

Had some noises from the front and the parking brake made that joyful noise to now and again so that was to be looked at

Call back from garage, the next 6 hours work is:-

Front wheel bearings (unsafe to drive)
Front disc's and pads
Hand brake is seized and probably new pads

Also slight...

Although buying a new steering wheel is a better option you can seriously improve the existing one for around £10. I'm restoring a classic car with a lot of leather in it and have had to try and save some of the expensive elements using repair kits.

The basic principle is to remove the finish with nail varnish remover then apply the new finish - (basically a special paint) and then matt or gloss or satin sealer (looks like PVA glue), leather colour repair kits are...

Can anyone please help answer why my rear air con is not blowing cold air even though the front is. As I understand the rear is fed from the front down the pipes on the passenger side which have been replaced, and was re-gassed last year. But I don't seem to to be getting cold air. Everything else seems to work. Any help is appreciated.
