RUD tire chains

Does anyone here have personal experience with RUD chains and clearance issues. I'm running 285/65/18 Nitto Terra Grapplers and they look to be very close to the upper A-arm assembly. Is there room for chains? I'm not a fan of spacers BTW. Thanks Guys!!!

285/65 is wider than 255/60 = less room. My concern is upper arm clearance. Tight as we speak.

I just posted a similar question. Did you get an answer. I have about 4 mills between the chains and the suspension - this cant be right despite the box claiming they are for the tyres !!??

Think you've summed it up there Andy, they're right for the tyres but not necessarily when they're fitted to a vehicle, with that little clearance think I'd be getting some spacers on them! The End

Thanks slimmer and I read that spacers are bad for the bearings. How much is a spacer and getting LR to fit them. I dont have a spanner big enough ?!

Don't know about bad for the bearings, with extended use maybe Confused Also don't know how much, the lot that have just gone to Cros have them (Ken have you got some for sale?) If you can change a wheel you should be able fit them yourself, spanner (at a guess) is the same size as the wheel nuts so you should be fine Thumbs Up

Nil Andy. At $950USD for a set for the Classics and 6 mos. wait for the Grip4x4, I'll just use my winch when needed. Censored Censored Censored

In the Uk I rekon they're around the £250 - £300 price mark.
