Excuse me if this has been debated before, but -
Thinking [only thinking] on doing my bit for the environment and p*ss off all those greenies and anti 4X4 protesters.
That way I can keep running my D3 and force the issue back down their throats as they run about in their ' 10 yr old Smokey Rover' cars.
Currently in my volunteer work, they run Defenders on Biodiesel [including new 2007 model] and all run well.
Would like to open up a discussion on Biodiesel.
a few prompts:-
Is TDV6 suitable to run on Biodiesel?
Engines don't need any conversion to run [so I'm told]?
How much per litre?
Any performance defecits?
Is mpg better/worse?
What % is best - 5% through to 100%
Will it freeze [I think the lower %, it will]?
Will it effect warranty?
Would road tax be cheaper?
Can the engine still be chipped?
Is it reasonably available nationally?
Can conventional diesel be used in between, when biodiesel is not available?
Anyone have any experience, thoughts and views on running a D3 on Biodiesel?? I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

It is specifically mentioned in the front of the user manual. NOT to use it. It will invalidate warranty.

Thanks tasmod,
Well, thats that then!!
And here's me thinking LR were keen to support these CO2 issues
[per link from other thread].

Maybe I should get onto LR direct and proposition them as to 'why not' and 'what can be done'? I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

You can run it on up to 5% bio, but only if it complies with EN 590 standards. There is also no way to know if what you're getting at the pump already contains biodiesel or not, as under the EN590 specs there can be up to 5% bio in the fuel without it having to be declared - this is becomming more and more common. So I wouldn't suggest adding veg oil to your diesel as a) it won't comply with EN590 specs so the warranty could be voided on engine/fuel components, and b) you could end up with a mix of up to 10% if there was already bio in the fuel. Someone does, but it's not a conversion - the engine cannot run on LPG alone. It's injected with the diesel, and is mainly supposed to enhance performance moreso than fuel economy I think. IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver

So, 28MPG for diesel usage alone, probably around average for a TDV6 anyway, plus the cost of the LPG and the cost of the conversion - you'd be better off just getting it chipped. IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver
