Running in...

Hi all,

I am a few days into PERMA Very Happy country, but have a query that I would welcome thoughts on.

The new engine seems keen to rev but...

What would be the general consensus on rev limits etc for a new TDV6 engine? - And for how many miles?

Regards
Ian

Don't know the official party line but I tried to hold mine under 3000 for the first 1000 miles

I had RTFM - it's just that to someone of my advancing years, 500 miles seems so little!

Life is too short to be running engines in so I guess Jag decided to give us all a break.

isn't that what the rev limiter is for? Confused Wink

If you have a manual, then maybe you should give some thought to running the engine in. But an auto won’t let you rev the engine too high anyway. I just didn't use the Sport mode too much in the first 1,000 miles and just drove it how I liked in normal mode. The D3 gearbox keeps the engine pretty low revving anyway
