[For Sale] 2 sets of 17" wheels & offroad tyres with ltd free delivery

As we currently have more than 40 wheel/tyre combinations for our D3 and D4 SWMBO has finally persuaded me that I should sell some of them. First to go are the 17" wheels as I have recently upgraded the front brakes to the V8 spec (well, DM did the work!).

TO AVOID ANY DOUBT THESE WILL ONLY FIT A D3 WTH THE STANDARD BRAKES FITTED

Given that they are the original 5-spoke rims they are obviously of an age. To be honest their condition is pretty crap - mainly because they have been used off road (a lot). If you are precious about your car's appearance then these are not for you!

SET 1
Looking for £170 for the set of four - less than the cost of the one nearly new tyre

4 rims with BFG MT tyres fitted - one of the tyres has less than 1,000 miles on it, but one has worn unevenly on one edge. These have become my preferred tyre of choice as we have never got stuck with them fitted to the car - despite it being (very) well loaded and often towing a trailer of steelwork etc.- we install cableways over rivers in the winter months.

Gratuitous images of tyres/wheels in use:

And the wheels/tyres themselves:

This is the one which has not worn evenly:

SET 2
£40 for the set of four, (or £25 if bought with SET 1)
These have an older set of BFG AT's fitted - a couple of the tyres are ok (ish) but two are poor (one has a large crackin it) so I'm just looking for the scrap value of the rims.

Now the unusual bit. I live miles from anywhere civilised but have to drive down to Southampton this week to go to a funeral. I can therefore offer FREE delivery to within a 5 mile corridor of the southbound route (either A82/M74/M6/M42/M40/A34 or via M5/Cheltenham/Swindon/Hungerford/Winchester/Southampton) on Tuesday or similar via my northbound route (across to London on the Wednesday then up to Sheffield, then Thursday is up to Newcastle on the A1, then A69 over to Carlisle and M74 north)

Please place Dibs here first if interested and then contact via PM Thumbs Up

Hi Paul, dibs noted.

Happy either way/side of the Pennines - whichever suits you best. If you can send me a pm with your approx location I can see how it works for me on Tuesday/Thursday.

Cheers

OK - this is beginning to get complicated (inevitably!)

The easy bit - the MTs are 245/70/17 and fitted my D3 with no rubbing etc. As stated above, they will NOT fit over the V8 brake upgrade.

Last night a member expressed an interest via PM but no Dibs; this morning I had one (provisional) dibs noted at 08.04, second email from initial enquiry at 08.15 and then second dibs at 08.46

I had tried to be clear in the OP that it was to be standard forum practice of dibs followed by PM, and have also to try and be practical about the route I plan to take.

Therefore, and assuming all three parties are still interested:

First dibs to Mr Fudge (in Oxford) - I hope to be passing by early evening tomorrow

Second dibs to pgerman (Milton Keynes) - shouid be Wednesday evening after funeral and meeting with my daughter

Third dibs to member who PM'd me (in Newcastle Upon Tyne) - I'll be passing there on Thursday morning some time.

If I have been incorrect in placing the initial PM third (which was a query about price) then can Mods please advise as I'm trying to do this 'by the book'

So far as the second set of ATs are concerned then Paul and I are sorting out a meet-up, most likely for Thursday morning when I shall be travelling from Sheffield to Newcastle.

Now all I have to do is try and get them in the car with a 4.5m inflatable boat, liferaft and survey gear etc!

I'll pass thank you - I was hoping they would be a little larger (I'm running 245/75 x 17 AT's at the moment, and these are about an inch smaller in diameter.

All wheels now sold and delivered after a 1500 mile round trip. Many thanks to those who expressed an interest, and apologies to Chris for not replying to your post on Wednesday but I wasn't checking emails or forum whilst away.

Good to meet two further members from the forum but even better is that I now have some house point credits from SWMBO

There are likely to be other wheels put up on here in the not too distant future but I couldn't fit any more than two full sets in the car at the same time!
