Woody, can you temp me where you had the GPS battery replaced, my dr650 won’t boot down when unpowered .. Just turns off.
Did you replace yourself?
Di you change the capacitor too?

I replaced the battery myself, I got the replacement of eBay. I found a video on YouTube showing how to replace the battery. It was a bit fiddly removing the old battery and soldering in the new one but with the aid of a magnifying glass holder it was accomplished. I didn't replace the capacitor.
I used the camera for approx. 1 year after I did this and the date was always correct after 6 months of not being used the date was incorrect again. 1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold
