If I recall correctly,
When you select the nav menu and it gives the warning about driving. Set the language to english uk. Go to destination setting and select the UK. Your map should remain on uk. It may help to set a home address. Dave

@pegleg007
Does your Sat nav screen stay on for a while when you remove the key?

If its going black straight away then it looks like your permanent feed has gone, this is why its not remembering your settings, it should stay on until the car goes to sleep. Check all your fuses.
The screen has two supplies one permanent live all the time and the other one from the infotainment relay to delay shut down.
